This HIV DUO test helps detect anti-HIV 1 and anti-HIV-2 total immunoglobulins plus HIV-1 p24 antigen. The advantage of testing for p24 is that this indicator of HIV infection can be detected earlier than with tests that only looked for HIV antibodies.
